On Wednesday I went to doctor concerned about fluid retention around my ankle on the leg in which I had DVT earlier this year. The doctor immediately made an appointment for me at the DVT Clinic for the following day. At the clinic I was seen by a nurse, Helen who was very professional but also friendly. She explained what would happen during the scan and was able to reassure me that the problems I was having were due to the old blood clot which was clinging on. She put my mind at rest by telling me that the clot would not move to my lungs as it had earlier in the year but she would prescribe pressure stockings and would write to my GP to continue with the current medication.
I have always felt that I have been very well looked after by the NHS but all of this happening within 24 hours was exceptional service. Staff should be given the credit they deserve; my doctor, Dr Husain, and Helen have been excellent.
