"Very mixed treatment"

I was referred to Thornbury by my G.P. as an NHS patient via the One Health service. I had a lumbar trigger point injection for which I had general anaesthetic. The nurse who received me onto the ward was new to the ward but respectful and caring. The whole procedure from then on appeared to be very rushed. As the anaesthetist and assistant disagreed about which of my veins they would have preferred to use, they carried on a conversation about the previous night's events, I felt invisible. The consultant seemed to be in a rush, particularly at the point of the injection when palpating the area. In the recovery room, as I waited for 20 mins, the staff complained about ward staff not coming to collect me, and that it was not up to them. It was left to the nurse who received me into the ward to come for me. On returning to my designated room, the height of the trolley was greater than that of the bed and as my leg was completely numb (something that had not been explained to me as a possibility following the injection) I fell on to the bed. Because I could not walk, my stay was extended and it was left to the same caring nurse to wheel me out to my husband's car. Thank you to the nurse and I am grateful for the treatment but overall, a very mixed experience.
