I was taken to The Cumberland Infirmary in an Ambulance (Excellent paramedics) with chest pain. The consultant decide to give me an angiogram because of my past history. As a result of the angiogram I was fitted with two stents to rectify some narrowing of arteries on a rather difficult junction, as a preventative measure, even though I had not had a heart attack. The standard of care and the surgical procedure carried out was as good as one could expect anywhere and compared favourably with the Freeman in Newcastle where I am also a patient. Everyone in the Heart Centre was on top of their job and I was expertly looked after during my time there. This hospital has received some criticism in the past but I could not fault the service and treatment I was given and I would have every confidence should I need to return for further treatment in the future.
"Super surgeons, Nice nurses and top treatment."
