"Follow up appointment after scan"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

My 82 year old mum had a knee replacement at the end of last year and during her stay in hospital it was discovered that she had an irregular heart beat.

She subsequently had a heart scan and was placed on the appropriate medication.

We recently attended the follow up appointment with a doctor who was excellent.

They took time to explain why she had been placed on the medication and listened to her concerns about the side effects that she had experienced.

Together they discussed changes to her treatment and the way forward.

This doctor treated her with dignity and respect and listened to her opinion.

We spent a long time talking to them and at no point were we rushed or hurried through his clinic - 10 out of 10 for excellent patient service!

Thank you
