Seven months ago I suddenly had terrible stomach pain.
My GP referred me for an NHS ultrasound at Chorley hospital who said there was nothing wrong.
Following this I saw six different consultants through the NHS, they all said that as the scan showed "nothing" that there was little they could do to help me and they all suggested seeing the pain clinic.
One also said it was "probably IBS (even though I had no symptoms of IBS)
This month, after 6 weeks of vomiting and being unable to keep any solid food down, and being in terrible pain I paid to see a general surgeon at Fulwood Hall and for another ultrasound scan.
The consultant was great, seemed almost from the off to know what was wrong and the ultrasound Dr found in a matter of minutes that I have had a hernia for all these months.
Without the expertise of these doctors I would have probably had many more months of pain and illness and perhaps may even have ended up with emergency surgery.
The nurse during my scan was lovely and in future i will always go straight to Fulwood hall for any tests I need doing, despite the cost.
"Brilliant"
