"Sleepless in the Vic"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

It is vitally important for anyone to recuperate that they have the environment which allows them to sleep. The Blackpool Victoria is as far removed from that as it is possible to be. Seagulls have been allowed to colonise the roofs and their cacophony of screaming and screeching is constant day and night. From the window of my room I can see five pairs of birds nesting in the roof gutters. There is even a tree growing in one gutter which provides a handy perch for their young. Why has this been allowed? Does the Vic have nobody responsible for the maintenance of the buildings or is patients sleep of so little consequence that the problem is ignored? If this happened to you roof st home you would soon do something about it. Why not at the Vic

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experiences at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals.

I am sorry that you found this experience to be less than positive due to the noise caused by Seagulls. I will share this with the teams involved in the maintenance of our estate.

So that your concerns can be better investigated and so that you can receive an individual response, if you believe this would help please can you contact our Patient Relations team on:

Thank you once more

Andrew
