About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

After visiting the hospital for ecgs and angiogram which was carried out very professionally I had heart surgery on 16 June 2016 entailing two heart valve repairs and 1 bypass. The surgeon and their staff did an excellent job and it was very successful. The ICU took excellent care of me for the 5 days I was there. I spent 2 days in HDU ward 38 before going home. I cannot fault the care I received. Pity I cannot mention the Surgeon by name or their staff who were excellent: I do not even have a scar from the bypass. Pity I had to wait so long for pre-op tests. I am well on the way to recovery now and should have had it done sooner. Thank you.

Thank you for taking the time to ‘Tell Us’ about your recent experience in The Lancashire Cardiac Centre here at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals. It is great to hear that you found your treatment and care to be excellent. I am sorry about the wait that you had for your pre-op but it is really positive that now you have had your surgery you are feeling the benefits.
