"Angel!"

About: Manchester Royal Infirmary

I feel bad I didn't do something sooner and I haven't been able to forgot what this lovely member of staff did for myself and my family on a very stressful day . It was a friend I was talking to today who gave me this idea . Back in May my daughter attended the accident and emergency department bleeding she was 14 weeks pregnant at the time and very scared , she had come straight from work so she was on her own . My daughter had been seen by the nurse and whilst waiting for someone to take her to St Mary's she was sat at the nurses station as you go into the green area. She told me later that day that a member of staff who she believes was an admin/reception member was sat beside her and made her feel so at ease making conversation and trying to comfort my daughter at one of the most frightening times of her life . When I arrived at the hospital with my son in law we walked into the green area and spoke to the member of staff on the nurses station who it turns out was the same person who sat with my daughter, they were so kind and approached us when we walked in and asked who we had come to see, they had been expecting us and was waiting so they could show us where to go . They walked us to the main corridor and got one of the volunteers to take us to the ward where my daughter was being looked after . I cannot thank this member of staff enough. My daughter and her baby are both doing well and I am so grateful that someone was there to look after them whilst she was alone . I hope this email finds this member of staff and that she knows how grateful we all are . Also thanks to the nursing staff as well who looked after my daughter .
