"Worst place ive ever been"

I am appalled and disgusted at the way myself and other patients have been treat. Staff have been heard to say "if other staff could hear how I speak to patients I wouldn't have a job". Staff were purposefully antagonising patients saying carry on keep winding them up. You come to hospital for help and support not to be treat like a door mat. If you cry you get screamed at to go to your room on other wards I've been on staff ask how they can help you and support you but not one member of staff has been supportive in my time here. Leaves are always cancelled due to the lack of staff yet there is enough staff for two to leave the ward and buy all the staff a McDonalds. They ignore and mock patients and talk about patients and staff behind their back and outside of work. Staff bring up patients personal incidents up in the day area in front of everyone. There is never anything to do to keep yourself occupied they made a 7 day activity programme which was only made because the CQC were coming and is never followed. Staff never have time for patients and if anyone talks to staff about a private matter it is soon passed on to other staff what's happened to confidentiality.

We are very sorry to hear that you have not had a positive experience of our services at Roseberry Park Hospital. The behaviors you describe fall short of what we would expect from our staff. Your comments have been fed back to the Heads of Services at the hospital who will address these concerns with their teams.

As there are a number of wards and Roseberry Park it is difficult to address your concerns directly without more information. Should you wish us to do this on your behalf please get in touch with us by contacting Corinne Aspel Lead Senior Nurse Patient and Carer Experience on 0191 3333566 or by e mail at corinne.aspel@nhs.net.
