"Dermotology at St Mary Hospital"

About: St Mary's Hospital (HQ) (London)

I had my appointment at St Mary Dermatology unit in June. The consultant did not like the look at a birth mark on my right arm so advised it be excised. I attended the clinic for a completely unrelated matter. I was extremely happy that the consultant had picked up on this. The Consultant was wonderful at making me feel at ease as I became very worried when they advised they did not like the look of it. They were extremely knowledgeable. They prescribed a course of antibiotics for me to take and made an appointment for me to have the birthmark removed.

The service went down hill from there as the 3 week wait for the biopsy results was unbearable. I was prescribed antibiotics for four months but only received two months worth, my doctors are now giving me hell as they refuse to prescribed the other two months as they say I have received four months worth. My recommended treatment has now ceased. I am still officially waiting for my result after three weeks and on calling to find out my results, I am getting no where fast. no direct line numbers working and no one calling me back. The service is not geared towards patients and its such a shame as we are the ones suffering. The consultants are doing there best in a failing service and its a crying shame.
