"First class care and support for my family and I."

Form the minute I arrived until the minute I left, the care for myself and family were second to none. Sadly I arrived in a very sad state and it was almost certain after a Heart Attack and being out for almost an hour that I wasn't going to make it. My husband had commenced CPR at the roadside until Paramedics arrived and then I was taken to A&E. Obviously I was unaware of what was happening but both my husband and daughter have told me what an amazing team of nurses and doctors I had looking after and working on me. I can never thank them enough for not giving up on me, without them I wouldn't be writing this. I was then transferred to intensive care and again the care and support for myself and family was amazing. I was very poorly for a number of days but at every stage my family were kept in the loop and at no time did they ever feel that I wasn't everyone's top priority.

Eventually I was brought out of my coma and I can remember some things, but I do know that I wasn't the easiest patient once I came round. I'm normally the most placid and friendly person, but once awake I became a bit of a monster!! I can only say to the staff how very sorry I am and I'm sure they will know who I am!!! They were amazing to me and I can never thank them for what they did. Without every person that helped me in the hospital, I wouldn't be where I am today. I was then moved onto Coronary Care and again the care and support for myself and my family was second to none. This is the stage of my recovery that I do remember and I can only say that I felt at ease and was informed at all stages of my stay there. Everyone from the Doctors through to the Cleaner were amazing. There are too many names to mention as I had lots of people working on me and then afterwards looking after me. I only wish I could name you all. My family have filled me in on many blanks certainly in the early stages before I had my treatment, but I don't think I'll ever remember all of the staff who looked after me. A huge thank you to you anyway.

I'm now recovering well and luckily I have age on my side, although it is strange at 42 to say I've had a Heart Attack. I'm sure now in my next stage of recovery the rehabilitation team will help me with this and help me to become much more understanding of the condition I had.

I would like to say that I do hope that people never have to visit the teams and wards that I did, but it's a sad fact that people do. I can only say that they will receive the best care ever.
