I was discharged one week ago after a weeks convalescence following double inguinal open surgery at The Wansbeck. I was admitted to Rothbury following heavy post operative seepage of blood from the surgical incision. Without doubt all staff of every grade at Rothbury were extremely caring, professional & holistic in their care, added to this was genuine warmth & a individual approach to every patient. They would go out of their way to ensure you were pain free, comfortable & wanted for nothing. Definitely an ambience of people before paper & before routine. Everyone one of them was there when they were needed.
A friend of mine had private care at a certain hospital Newcastle & in all honesty it was not as good as the NHS care at Rothbury. I say this not only as a patient but as a retired Senior Lecturer in Nursing at Northumbria University & 50 years experience of being a nurse. The Coquet Valley has a gem of a hospital & some the best staff in the NHS. Bless them all & deepest thanks to you from myself & family.
