"The nurse was very helpful and ..."

About: Torbay Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

The nurse was very helpful and carried out a number of tests well and was very nice.

What could be improved

When the doctor came to asses the results, although I had been in amazing pain earlyer and cryed for the first time in quite a few years with it, the doctor promptly told me that there were real sick people next door and why was I wasting his time, he then asked some quaestions but didnt wait for a reply really then pretty much threw some anti biotics at me.

Anything else?

I will be taking this as far as I can the doctor certainly needs to find a better bedside mannor!

Treating patients with respect is very important to us. We have made contact with this patient today (10/03/2010) to offer him the opportunity, if he wishes, to make a formal complaint or to give us further details so that we can look into the circumstances.

If anyone wishes to raise a concern the best way is through our Patient Advice and Liaison Service: see under Patient Support on this website or at http://www.sdhct.nhs.uk/aboutUs/services/PALS/.
