"The Dr didn't even tell me his name"

About: East Surrey Hospital Redwood Diagnostic Treatment Centre

(as the patient),

I was referred by my GP to see a specialist at East Surrey for a problem that has been going on for well over 2 years and causes a lot of discomfort. I got my 1st outpaitent appointment pretty quickly and was surprised as I had expected a really long wait. On the day of the appoinment we arrived 20 minutes early but was seen almost straight away as there wasn't a queue. After that I felt much less impressed.

The nurse who came in with me (another lady as I was being examined by a male Dr) was friendly enough though I felt spent more time fussing around in the background.

The outpatient letter said I'd be seen by the senior guy or one of his team - I have no idea who the guy was but I felt that they were rude. Dr (or consulant or surgeon) just told me in what I felt was a gruffly manner to sit down and barely said 1 sentence to me. I was then ordered onto the examining table. He didn't explain to me what he would be doing and afterwards, again, said about 2 sentences before saying I was done and to go and wait for my surgery.

I get quite embarassed by the problem and I think it would have been nice to see more tact. Stll haven't a clue what the Drs name is.

I'm now waiting for the date for my surgery at the Redwood Day Centre.
