"Disgraceful"

About: New Cross Hospital

My Daughter had been having problems with her pregnancy and had to take her to A&E. Whilst waiting for medical assessment and inbetween care she was made to sit in large waiting area. My daughter was in pain and was quite obvious she was in the early stages of miscarriage. When I asked if there was somewhere more private she could go I was told no by a young receptionist who wasn't even slightly interested in our problem and my concern for my daughters privacy. They were very rude and unsympathetic and clearly could see I was not happy with their tone. I then asked a triage nurse who WAS more understanding but apologised that there was no where else they could take her. I am qute appalled that this is a brand new A&E dept but has no provisions or facilities for situations such as this. I would say that she was later discharged only to be brought back in by ambulance later that night. Additionally did not understand why she was not referred or transferred to the gynecology department. I'm not a medical professional but it was clearly the most obvious and sensible things to do. Appalling and disgraceful service and treatment.
