"Radical Prostatectomy"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital

Having been referred from the Isle of Wight to QA for prostate cancer I was extremely grateful to the urology department team for their handling of my case. The treatment pathway options were clearly explained, and whilst the final decision is the patients, advice and support was readily available. Having decided on the radical prostatectomy I always felt in good hands in the lead up to the operation, during the operation, and in recovery, going home in under two days. The Da Vinci Robot is an amazing piece of equipment enabling the surgeon to operate with increased accuracy and dexterity which have helped minimize the after effects often associated with this operation. The anaesthetics team deserves special credit for the important role they play during the operation. Very many thanks to everyone involved in my treatment.
