"Never answers phone"

About: Mid & South Buckinghamshire Diagnostic NHS Centre

I've been a few times, but I was referred there by my doctor, they never ever answer the phone. How do they expect you to make or change an appointment if there is no staff to even answer the phone. They don't seem to understand your problems. I need to go there for a bladder problem, they want you to drink a litre of water beforehand, which is impossible, so they don't understand that. The car park is always full so you can't park and the waiting room is impersonal, just as you go through the door. Very embarrassing if you are trying to hold off going to the loo. Very bad experience. Loathe the place.

Response from Mid & South Buckinghamshire Diagnostic NHS Centre

Apologies for the delay in our response, we have had issues with being able to reply to the comments displayed via NHS choices.

I am very sorry that you have encountered problems contacting our booking team.

We receive a high volume of calls and do our utmost to answer calls in a timely fashion, on this occasion we have clearly failed to do so and I apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.

We are looking at changing our telephone call system, which I am confident will help.

With regards to the requirement for you to drink before your scan; I understand this may prove difficult.

Unfortunately, it is a pre-requisite of some investigations.

However, if you have concerns for future appointments, I could ask our Clinical Lead to call you in advance to discuss alternative options.

We do offer free, on site car parking; unfortunately the car park can get extremely busy, however there is a very good public bus service to the centre.

In addition, the booking team would be happy to advise you of the quieter times, in order that you can book your appointment accordingly.

Please accept my apologies again for the experience you have had.
