In January my partner was referred to Mk eye clinic. We received an appointment for the beginning of March.
The hospital then cancelled this appointment and gave us another one for the 17th March. On the 17th of March we waited two hours to be seen to then be told when the new appointment was made they forgot to make an appointment with the consultant.
The nurse was very unsimperphetic.
We then go another appointment for the 17th may where my partner was told he had glycoma, being diagnosed with glycoma at a young age is very distressing.
This means his eye sight is depended on Mk eye care and treatment. He was given eye drops and told they might work but come back in two months. After 6 weeks we hadn't received another appointment. So my partner called a week ago and was put though to an answers phone and left a message.
Also the eye drops were running out so we went to our GP to be told the hospital hasn't notified them of his condition and they cannot do a repeat prescription for the drops.
The hospital finally got back to us and gave us an appointment on Tuesday .
We then received a call Tuesday morning cancelling the appointment.
We were told we should of received an appointment in the post and they can't understand why there computer system isn't working.
So 3 out of 4 of our appointments have been cancelled you don't receive appointments though the post.
The booking system is a shambles.
My partners eye sight depends on how reactive and the care you get.
It's got to be more cost effective to try and save my partners eye sight rather then let him go blind and make him disabled!
