"Some poor Signage"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

I have attended the Recto/colon service clinics several times in the past few months. It was not easy to find the clinic. Asking at main reception I was directed to go to the lift and told to get out the first floor. There to turn left for the clinic - or was it right?

There are no "Recto/colon clinic" direction signs by the lift on the ground floor to help, and worse still, none visible when leaving the lift at the first floor. By asking around I managed to get to the clinic. But there were no signs that I saw on the way to help me. The first " recto/colon" sign I saw was when I arrived at the clinic's reception area. I spoke to two other patients there who said they had had the same problem with no signs by the lift.

As there are two approaches to the reception area It should also be appreciated that the clinic reception sign can only be seen from a distance if approached from the corridor at right angles to it. And not from the otherI hope you can remedy this. Finding it difficult to find the clinic does add to one's anxiety.

Thank you for your helpful feedback about the signs.

We will get the estates team to see how we can improve them. It is great that you have highlighted a 'sign direction' problem which you have experienced.

I am the managing director for colorectal service, elizabethball1@nhs.net.

Please let us know if there are any other improvements we can make.
