"Fabulous Health Centre......Just One..."

This health centre has served me well for the past 13 years.....first as the old Greystoke Surgery, & now as the Morpeth NHS Centre.

The staff couldn't be more helpful & have always strived to give me the best care.

I have received care with Greystoke Surgery on the 2nd floor, & on the 1st floor I have received physiotherapy, had X-rays, seen the Rheumatologist, had a biopsy performed, & seen the Chiropodist (they're the only member of staff I've felt a little miffed by.....they refused to care for my feet because I have somebody else, able bodied, in the home with me (my husband) who they say should do it (my GP disagreed with this, which is why he referred me in the first place!).....however, my husband isn't equipped to deal with my slightly in growing toenails etc, & going to get a pedicure is no use because the beautician isn't equipped either.....they purely do simple pedicures......all I wanted was my toenails cut every month or so.....it's about dignity.....I don't want my husband doing my feet (not that he minds!).... He does enough for me, I'd have liked to have avoided having him "forced" into this).

However, I digress.....my one request/suggestion for the Centre is that they enable me to be more independent by helping me to attend the Centre on my own.

At the minute I need my husband to bring me because I need to use the wheelchair while in the Centre.

If there was somebody who would assist me in getting my wheelchair out of my car, & putting it back in afterwards, then I could attend the surgery on my own.

I'm sure there isn't dozens of people all arriving throughout the day in wheelchairs, needing assistance, so it's probably not going to cause that much disruption to have somebody who can do this from time to time.......just now my husband has to take time out from his working day to take me (& there are times I can be at the Centre quite frequently for various things).

I can wheel myself, & am very independent, so find it quite restrictive to have to rely on him.

Other than this minor thing, I am extremely happy with all the services provided, with the cleanliness & presentation of the Centre, with the helpfulness of the staff at the reception at the entrance & with Greystoke Surgery.
