"Not what you hear in the media"

About: Torbay Hospital

Had the unfortunate need to visit a&e ion advice of my gp. Having not visited an a&e dept personally in over 15 years, I was shocked by what I arrived at. There was a queue of people waiting to 'check in', and the waiting area was packed full. Thought that this was going to be a long afternoon!! How wrong I was. I was checked in efficiently by the person on reception, and was advised to wait , whilst I joined a triage list. Within 20 minutes, I was triaged , and swiftly moved to assessment area. I was then looked after by several different professionals, before I was admitted to Chromie Ward. Great care by all at a&e ...thank you. Once on Chromie I was looked after by what appeared to be a great, energetic team , who were very obliging in all that I needed. Quite simply, I have been blown away by the level of care I received whilst on this ward, and cannot thank them enough for looking after me (& others by my observations). Would like to say a huge well done, to everyone concerned, from reception, triage, assessment, and Chromie. You should all feel very proud of what you do. Many thanks.
