"Infectious Diseases Department"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital

After all the negativity one hears about the NHS it is nice that the Infectious Diseases ward proves them wrong.

Had a late night admission from A&E and was greeted by an efficient night-nurse.

The nurses and general assistants where all friendly, knowledgeable and efficient with each one knowing their stuff in their area.

While they are no doubt busy and understaffed this did not come across and my stay was made as pleasant as possible given the circumstances.

Doctors were thorough and knowledgeable and explained things well.

Approciated the friendliness of the hot-drinks guy too. The only head popping round that was not holding something sharp :P

Ward was clean and regularily serviced.

Porters where friendly and a good laugh just what you need on your way to another test.

Food was good and edible with a choice of menu items.

Thank you for making an unpleasant experiance bearable and of course for looking after me ...
