My case was quite a long story, but when it came to having the abdominal operation at The Cumbrian Infirmary, it was only 11days from seeing the consultant to having the operation.I was very impressed with the close co ordination between the consultant ,the pre assessment unit and the surgery department.Alot of this co ordination was due to my 'Key Worker' who has been so good (and no doubt others behind the scenes that I don't know about.)
My care after the operation was excellent too. I was in Aspen ward, and all the staff without exception were very caring and also efficient, despite being very busy.As a result I was discharged on 6th June. Follow up care ( over the phone...I live some distance from the hospital) has also been 2nd to none. I am full of praise for The Cumbrian Infirmary and its staff.
PS. Previous to my operation I had excellent services from the CT scanning Department at Whitehaven and the Colonoscopy Department at both Whitehaven and Carlisle
