On Thursday 9th June I had the dubious pleasure of having a colonoscopy in this lovely unit.
Having been in Nursing for 35 years you can imagine I was not looking forward to this (knowing too much is not always a good thing!).
With trepidation i arrived at 8.30 am and took a seat in the waiting area, Very soon I was called through by a lovely nurse who could tell how nervous I was.
They made me so welcome and put me at my ease straight away answering all my questions honestly and giving me as much reassurance and guidance as I needed.
The procedure was over before
I could blink, the doctor was really talkative and funny involving me at all times (explaining everything as they went whilst I watched on the monitor ha ha) and it was not long before I was sipping tea and eating biscuits.
Well done to all the lovely staff for making a potentially embarrassing procedure bearable.
To the receptionist on the desk I would only say one thing.... please smile.
"Being on the other side sucks!"
