I arrived at A&E after throwing up for 7 days and had been told by my GP that I had food poisoning. I started to feel very weak and dehytrated . The wait in a&e was as expected as I could see they were very very busy.
When I was eventually seen I was put on a drip which wasn't the best experience ever as it was in a side room and
I was hooked up having to sit up with about 8 other people around and as I was feeling sick obviously the ideal situation would to be lying on a bed relaxing but I was grateful as I knew I needed to be rehydrated .
I was then taken that night into a examination room until a bed became available. I had many tests which included blood tests , heart tests, X-rays and a scan.
I was informed I would have a CT scan later that night.
I was checked on regularly and my blood pressure was checked.
I was then informed that I had a hernia which was obstructing my bowel and that I would have to have an operation in the morning. The operation went well and I am now at home recovering.
I have nothing but praise for the entire team at lewisham hospital from the Doctors and nurses to the lovely people that make the beds and bring the drinks round, everyone was so kind and I am very very proud of our NHS.
Thanks Lewisham team, I am so grateful for all your care you all work so hard and you should all be proud of the good work you do.
"Proud of our NHS"
