"Referral for investigation to the Urinary Tract..."

About: Good Hope Hospital

My GP referred me to Urology on Saturday June 10 on Monday the bookings team contacted me to bring the appointment forward to June 14. The treatment I received for the flexible cystoscopy both by the specialist responsible and the two nurses was excellent.

I was booked for a pre op 20th June for a rigid cystoscopy on June 28/29.

In the event the overnight stay was not necessary. The care and support I received was excellent - a first class NHS. The reassurance that it was done so promptly and an explanation of why the overnight was not necessary were done so professionally that I do not fear the result of the single biopsy the team felt it sensible to follow up on.

My thanks to the whole team anesthetist, surgeons, nursing staff in day care and recovery including the cleaner on the day care unit!

Response from Marie Helebert, Patient Services Officer, Patient Services, Heart of England Foundation Trust

Dear Mr Stephen Gale

Thank you so much for your comments and feedback following your investigations at Good Hope Hospital.

I am so pleased to read that you were looked after so well, both before your attendance, in that following your GP's referral, you were contacted very quickly to arrange your appointment.

It is heartwarming to read that you feel the care, support and treatment you received was excellent throughout.

I will ensure that your feedback is highlighted to the Appointments Team Management, The Clinical Director for Urology, the Matron, and the Management Team for Day Surgery at Good Hope Hospital who will all be thrilled to read your feedback themselves and communicate it to all of their respective teams, who work very hard to provide a positive patient experience. It is most appreciated that you have taken the time to provide your feedback and it is extremely important to us.

Once again, thank you, and I wish you the very best in your continued recovery.

Kind regards

Marie Helebert
