About: North Tyneside General Hospital

"certain" staff on this ward 15 yesterday made inappropriate comments re my mother--two of them-

and to top it all off they have put a DNR notice on my mother's file without either informing her or her next of kin--put a DNR on without telling anyone

Dear J Bain,

I am sorry to hear that you heard two members of our staff making inappropriate comments - you will understand why it is important for us to find out what was said and identify who those staff were if at all possible ? We believe that acting quickly in response to patient concerns is the best way of understanding the problem and making things right.

With your mothers permission please could you email me her details to Annie.Laverty@nhct.nhs.uk. In the meantime I will contact our team on Ward 15 to begin making enquirers into what happened. It will also allow me to look into the DNR communication - I can only apologise for the fact that neither you nor your mother have been involved in these rescissions in the way that you would like.
