"So Kind and Understanding, and only 3 weeks..."

About: Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre

I went in on Monday 27th June for an Iguana Hernia, collected by their mini bus, with time to spare, and it was the day the Glastonbury music festival was going home! My health check a few weeks before was very thorough, and everything fully explained.

I should say here, that i am pre-op female Transgender, and the kindness i received was no more than i think every patient receives, the respect and understanding was very inclusive.

Because i live alone, i stayed in a couple of days, before being allowed home, the food was very acceptable and a very varied menu.

Before being discharged my after care was clearly explained to me, before returning home by the mini bus again.

This Treatment Centre is a little Gem working for the NHS.

Dear Janet

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent treatment at Shepton Mallet NHS Treatment Centre.

We aim to provide a high quality, individualised patient focused service ensuring every patient is treated with the care and respect they deserve (and which we would all want for ourselves) and it was lovely to hear that you have been satisfied with our efforts. We believe that clear and careful communication is the key to establishing good rapport and that this in turn ensures the patient can make informed choices about their treatment plan and be reassured about any worries their forthcoming treatment may pose. I will ensure the team are made aware of your comments.

Kind regards

Trudy Craig RN
