"Poor service."

About: Barnet Hospital

Further to my complaints raised in June about the dermatology department, with the most recent one on 27th June, I've not had a response either from the department or appointments line. This is despite multiple promises I will have my appointment rebooked and someone will contact me.

I have tried calling on different days and different times before and after peak times, left messages for managers both in the dermatology department and appointments team yet still no response. No appointment. No treatment.

Today I called 0208 216 4600 twice and switchboard and they couldn't get through to Dermatology on several ocassions. I was then given 0208 216 4831 to call direct and no one answers the phone to all attempts made from 1332-1340hrs. I then called the appointments line and kept getting cut off.

Posted on 27 June 2016:

I was referred to the dermatology department in late March/ early April 2016. I chose and booked an appointment in April for 30th of June. This appointment was cancelled without telling me until several weeks later. I tried to rebook but got the run-around from both the department and appointments line. Was constantly referred to speak to the manager who was never available. Was told I'd be seen by 15th July in line with the referral policy which says 13 weeks from referral to appointment yet the next appointment I got was for 5th September. By September it would have been a 6 month wait. Just got a letter today cancelling that appointment with no reason given. Been calling all contact numbers given, no one answers. My issue is ongoing and getting worse without further treatment despite my GP doing everything possible. I specifically chose Barnet Hospital because of previous outstanding experiences in the dermatology as well as other departments. Sad to see NHS values and GMC/NMC codes of conduct not being adhered to. Mostly upset by the lack of communication, respect of the vulnerable patient and patient care as well as being treated as if I am nothing more than a number. Does anyone care?
