I am a patient of a Parkinsons Specialist and attended the support nurse for some years. The previous nurse left some time ago and I have had to visit my doctor about problems with my medication.
When I told them there was no Parkinsons support nurse at Queens because they had left the doctor told me there should be a replacement now.
Apparently there is a new support nurse but I have not been informed about that.
I have tried to get through on many occasions to see the specialist, but have given up after waiting so long.
My question is: Why weren't the records of the previous support nurse given to the new one and all the patients contacted??
Surely consideration for vulnerable patients with such a debilitating disease should be a priority where support is concerned?
Also I have been waiting for the results of a comparison xray for nodules since last march and still have not received it because the two xrays were referred by my doctor (as advised by the hospital) and a hospital doctor and the powers to be say it can't be done this way!
I have been waiting months and months for an appointment with the hospital for the annual check for this -check ups as advised by the specialist at the hospital.
I cannot help but think they are putting older patients in the back burner while seeing younger patients and other sectors of the population..
"Outrageously bad service for vulnerable patients"
