My dear wife was admitted on Layer Marney ward Monday 27.06.16 with a severe cough constant day and night which was diagnosed as due to her weak heart as she was in Colchester hospital about 2 1/2 yrs ago when we were told she would probably not make the night, however due to the wonderful consultant and their team they miraculously pulled her through and gave her new medication and after a month she was discharged.Like to say an enormous thanks to the medical team who ever they were. Now she is back again and hand on heart can only say once again the Drs and nursing staff have been fantastic cant praise them enough as my wife has shown signs of improvement although only slight at the moment but its only been 4 days so far and she is off her IV and being given excellent care by the nursing staff, nothing is too much trouble no matter how often you need anything.Had a slight mix up regarding the catering (its not very nice and fed up with repetitive jacket potatoes and sandwiches) but the Dr once informed sorted it very quickly. Drs are very caring and explain what ever you ask them in detail about the care. Have heard lots of people run Colchester hosp down but myself and my wife cannot praise this hospital enough as care is second to none and would honestly like it if these comments could be passed on to the staff on the ward with our big thanks.
"Resperatory ward could not be better"
