"Spotlessly clean ward,wonderful staff & made me..."

I was admitted to the addenbrookes treatment centre day surgery unit on the 10th of june for a laparoscopy & surgery for endometriosis.

I arrived at 7am was booked in immediately & within 2 or 3 minute a nurse came to take me on the unit,my husband was allowed onto the ward with me & stayed with me the whole time I there which was very nice,rather than me being dropped off & left by myself which I have experienced at other day surgery units in other hospitals.

The ward was spotlessly clean & each bay was individual & private,I also like the fact it was a same sex ward with just ladies.The ward was well staffed & all the nurses were lovely nothing was too much trouble for them.

By 8 am I had been prepped for theatre & everything was explained by 8.15 a member of the team & the anesthetist had both been to see me who were both absolutely lovely, very friendly & easy to talk to.

Shortly after I was escorted to theatre where a member of the theatre team stayed with me till the surgeon was ready to begin they were very nice and kept me chatting & was very kind & reasuring.

In recovery the staff made sure my pain was managed so I was comfortable & not in pain.After my surgery & back on the ward the nurses were fantastic, they popped in to see me every few minutes nothing was too much trouble for them,they made sure I was not in pain & they bought me as many cups of tea & glasses of water as I wanted & also kept offering sandwiches,toast & yoghurts which was very nice.I would like to thank the wonderful nurses on the ward that day they were kind,caring & friendly who really took very good care of all their patients in a a very efficient professinal but kind way &they looked after me wonderfully I was very impressed.

I have recovered very well from my surgery my stitches were very neat & I had no problems with infection afterward.

I would like to thank this team from the bottom of my heart,I like them very much, as a consultant they are down to earth & approachable & easy to talk to & really listens to you as a patient & in my opinion they are one of the absolute best at what they do. The whole team were fantastic, great at their jobs very professional,but they all treated me with kindness & respect & were warm & friendly at the same time.

I received at the day surgery unit & would like to thank the consultant the team & all the lovely nurses who took care of me that that day,you are all absolute diamonds & I would not hesitate to recomend the day surgery unit in any way,you will be in safe hands & receive the best of care by kind caring & friendly professionals who will do the best job possible.
