What I liked

The staff on the childrens ward were always very friendly and professional went out of their way to help where they could and made the effort to keep me and my partener informed about my sons treatments and condition.

The ward was kept clean and tidy and sheets and bandages were changed regularly.

The play staff in particular were brilliant with the children and helped keep my son entertained during his long stay.

What could be improved

The cleanliness of the parents room was lacking, on quite a few occasions the floor was filthy and I had to clean the work surfaces and crockery myself regularly. It was mainly abused not by the parents but by the healthcare profesionals and social workers who just left their tea bags and dirty cups on the sides for someone else to tidy up.

Anything else?

Overall I found the Ward very good and if (God fobid) either of my children needed to be admitted again I would choose Russells Hall over any other local hospitals.
