I went to Pontefract hospital day centre and ward 1A, for repairs to a hernia. I was glad to be kept informed of decision making and I appreciated the visit by my anaesthetist at 5.15pm following the operation. I was not happy that I had to wait from 12.45pm to 5.45pm for an ambulance, to be transported from the day care unit to ward 1A. Even then it was in a day centre minibus.
I would like to thank the anaesthetist for his consideration and information as to why he didn't advise a general anaesthetic but a spinal, and his talking to me all the way through it. I would also like to thank all nursing staff.
