I came to A&E just before Christmas with breathing difficulties.
I was very distressed as I was frightened with this condition, made worse by having to walk from car to A&E up steep hill. The receptionist & triage nurse were incredibly kind and helpful and immediate found a wheelchair and pushed me to the Minors section where they connected an ECG etc.
after very many tests & scans etc + 4 nights in hospital I was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy & Attrial Fibrillation and discharged.
The follow up care with GP, heart nurses, Consultant, specialist Anti-coagulant nurses and rehab team over the last 6 months has been brilliant and I feel so well cared for. I am extremely grateful to everyone at the hospital and the Cardiac team for being so wonderful.
