"Don't go to A&E here"

About: Hinchingbrooke Hospital

I arrived at approximately 11 pm and I waited over an hour to be triaged by a nurse with severe abdominal pains and vomiting.

Was told to wait. After another 2 hours without being seen, lying in agony across chairs in the A&E waiting room, I asked the receptionist when I would be seen and told them I was in severe pain. They told me there were very sick patients in the hospital. I pointed out that I was clearly sick and had yet to be seen. There was one other patient in the waiting room.

I waited another 40 minutes or so before asking again. The receptionist again, very rudely, told me "other patients are very poorly." And walked off from their post behind the doors.

Took a further hour to be treated. Staff were rude, lazy and incompetent. This hospital is a complete waste of tax payers money

We are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the care you received. It would be very helpful if you could contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) on 01480 428964, or by email: hch-tr.pals@nhs.net so that we can look into this in more detail for you.
