"Patient Experience"

About: University Hospital Of North Tees

I was admitted to hospital as an emergency and initially treated in Resuscitation department of A and E. The Staff in this department were fantastic and I felt reassured that I was receiving the best care possible.

I was transferred to Critical Care Ward where I found the care exceptional.

I was then transferred to Ward 24, where my experience was not so positive. Staff did not keep me informed of my progress and there were a few mix ups with my vital medication. The staff responsible for the mix up were agency staff and did not fill me with confidence that they were competent in their role, medicine cupboards were left open with the keys in the lock.

Thank you for contacting NHS Choices.

Your kind comments for A&E and Critical Care will be forwarded to the staff involved in your care.

However to enable the Trust to investigate your concerns regarding ward 24 we need further information therefore could you please contact the Patient Experience Team on 01642 624719 or email patientexperience@nth.nhs.uk
