"Complete waste of time and money"

I had an appointment with ENT consultant last Wednesday (22/6), funded by myself as I was anxious to sort out the hearing problem which had developed together with a ringing sound .

Having waited for an hour I eventually saw them for about 20 minutes when they did some tests and gave me some hope that further tests could be arranged quickly.

They informed me that firstly, they would arrange for a detailed hearing test to be carried out and would contact the company that does the test by the end of the day.

It is now 6 days later and despite having made numerous unanswered calls to the Hartswood hospital, the consultant's answerphone and the company who do the test, they tell me they have still not received the referral.

It is absolutely disgusting and uncaring beyond belief that a professional body could behave in this way.

It is clear to me that the consultant and the hospital's only thought is how much they can swell their coffers by without a genuine consideration for the patient themselves.

Incidentally Hartswood hospital, the numbers you gave me for the consultant's secretary are both wrong. Shame on you.
