My boyfriend and I visited the sexual health clinic due to him having pain urinating and a discharge. He was told he had gonorrea and our 2.5 year relationship suffered so much in response to this! We had doubts about each other's fidelity, I still had exams that I performed disastrously in due to the way I was feeling, and we both had to get injections and take 4 antibiotics. I have only ever been with my boyfriend and was mortified to find out that due to his diagnosis I would have to do an anal, virginal and oral swab. It really was embarrassing. I cannot deny that the staff in Whitegate drive tried to be understanding and comfort us both separately but never even acknowledged the possibility of a mistake on their end. We're a very close couple and decided to give each other the benefit of the doubt until our test results come back a week later through the phone. His symptoms persist, despite treatment, and we have had all our results back (including the initial swab that started this) come back negative of any sexualy transmitted disease.
