"Terrible Orthopaedic waiting times"

My grandad was referred to orthopaedics at raigmore hospital in november 2015. After waiting 4 months he wrote a letter of complaint to the hospital regarding how long he has waited. The reply he got stated the current waiting time was "in excess of 40 weeks", which clearly breaches current scottish government guidelines of "18 weeks referral to treatment time".

We are now at the end of June, still no progress or update from the hospital. My grandad has fell numerous times within this period, resulting in a+e attendance, we have now asked for him to be referred to lanarkshire nearer his family as he lives alone and have been told this is not possible,

we have asked for him to be referred to any other health board closer to his family and have yet again been told by GP (who consulted health board) that this is apparently still not possible.

I am extremely frustrated and upset at how nothing is being done for him and watching him deteriorate day by day is heartbreaking.
