"A great hospital with amazing staff!"

About: Wrightington Hospital

I am not usually a person who leaves reviews but after going into wrightington on Monday 20th June for a Ganz osteotomy and spending 5 days there I thought I would share my experience.

As an extremely anxious and frightened patient, I have been under the care of the doctor for about 2 years. The doctor has been nothing but supportive and calming on every anxious visit I had to outpatients. When I was told I was elegable for the Ganz surgery I was both hopeful (it would relieve some of my hip pain) but also terrified of being in hospital and having people care for me.

I really had nothing to worry about! Every member of staff I saw, whether dealing directly with me or not, was friendly and helpful! I was treated with dignity and respect at all times and spoken to like a person not just a number! My nurses were fantastic! Absolute gems! People who really deserve more credit than they get! The catering staff were lovely, the cleaning staff, the physios, every single person I came across made me feel like they wanted to help me not that they were there because they had to be. I was moved from High dependency to Ward B and nurses were even popping in to see how I was getting on during the week! These staff definitely deserve a lot of credit. They have no idea what their helpful and warm smiles everyday did for a very anxious patients frame of mind!

Thank you so much for your most positive feedback through the Patient Opinion website. It is always appreciated when someone takes the time to let us have their comments about their experiences here at the Trust. It gives us the opportunity to share your praise for good practice. Your comments will be shared with the Head of Nursing and Clinical Director for Specialist Services to disseminate to the staff over at Wrightington to ensure that they are signposted to your comments.

May I take this opportunity to wish to well and a speedy recovery.
