About: Goring Hall Hospital

I was due to go to Goring hall hospital on 3rd June through the NHS scheme but, due to an unavoidable emergency, was postponed for two more weeks, for which they were most apologetic, Eventually being admitted in Friday 17th. As this was my first ever visit to hospital (apart from visiting) in all of my 71 years, I was somewhat apprehensive as I had no previous experience. I needn't have worried, as I was treated with the utmost respect from everyone I encountered.

In a nutshell, I couldn't fault a thing (except maybe squeezing my car into a rare parking space) and suspect that if I has the letters HRH in front of my name the treatment would be identical.

Operated on Friday evening and woke up 2 hours later in the recovery room with my wife and son at my side.

Back to my room with it's en-suite facilities and flat screen TV, where I was given 100% care and attention.

Saturday morning, up you get and take a couple of (admittedly uncomfortable) steps and from there on it's progress all the way.

It's now been 8 days since the op and I've been home nearly 6 days and I can walk down the road and climb and descend stairs with the aid of two sticks.

Looking forward to having my staples taken out and progressing to one and eventually no sticks. I've been religiously doing the exercises as recommended and feel myself getting stronger every day.

I hope my experience of Goring Hall helps allay any ones fears.

My thanks to absolutely every one at Goring Hall
