About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Children's Ward

(as a parent/guardian),

Our 3 year old daughter recently had surgery to remove her tonsils & adenoids. The care she received from staff in the Children's Assessment Unit before and after her operation was exceptional. The nurses constantly reassured my husband and I, as this was our daughters first ever operation so we were apprehensive. Our daughters nurse, Claire was lovely, caring and we can't thank her enough as our daughter was distressed and upset after her operation. We were then moved into the Children's ward for an overnight stay and again the staff were great especially Kirsty, who was assigned to care for our daughter.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Forth Valley Royal with maternity units, antenatal and labour and now the children's wards. We also have to say thank you to our daughters anaesthetist, Daniel who was also great with her immediately before her operation. Thank you to you all

Being in hospital is a very scary and emotional time not only for a child but also for you as a parent so it is great to hear that the care your little girl received helped make it a good experience. The team were really pleased to hear your feedback as they always try to make a little one’s experience the best it can be as they are especially vulnerable at this time.

Your posting has been shared with Claire and Kirsty from CAU and Children's Ward and with Daniel the Anaesthetist. Thank you also for your praise of our maternity services which I will share with the maternity team.

I hope your little girl continues to recover well and enjoys lots of lovely ice- cream to soothe her throat!
