"You are all stars"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Trauma & orthopaedics

(as a relative),

My father was admitted to Wishaw General after breaking his hip. He was admitted to ward 15 where staff were friendly and helpful and whilst supporting my dad they also supported us as a family. He was then moved to ward 12 and although this confused him slightly it turned out to be an extremely positive experience for all of us. Staff were always available to answer our questions and calm down our fears and worries. My dad was treated with care, kindness and respect and even when we all knew the nurses were rushed off their feet they still took the time to talk to and listen to my dad. Hats off to each and every one of them. Don't get me wrong there were a couple of wee hiccups but those were dealt with effectively. I feel it is just if not more important to let people know what they are doing right and these guys definitely have it right. Special thanks go to Karen, Campbell, Tamara, Mary, Joanna, Andrea, Gail, Louise, Angela, Fiona, Margaret and I'm sorry if I have missed anyone but the fact that we know all their names says it all to me! ! You are all stars, you deserve recognition for all your hard work and efforts which sometimes are overshadowed by the pressures you are all under. That said we do hope we only see them again if we bump into them in Asda.

Dear og28

Thank you very much for taking time to post your kind comments regarding wards 15 and 12.

I am delighted that your father and family felt supported throughtout his stay in hospital, and that staff always had time to communicate with you and in doing so relieved any worries you had.

I will ensure that your comments are shared with each of the ward teams.

I wish your father contined good health and best wishes to your family

Thanks again for your kind post.

Regards

Janice
