"waiting for gastroenterology appointment"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

Had colonoscopy in Feb. Have suffered chronic embarrassing diarrhoea since last xmas, tried lots of different remedies, no relief. I Was told not urgent on numerous occasions, did not get an appointment until last Wednesday, someone rang to say there was a cancellation on afternoon, I took it, saw Dr Perry who was sympathetic and has now prescribed steriods.

Dear waited patiently

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave your feedback. I am sorry that you had such a long wait to see Dr Perry especially with the symptoms you have described. Unfortunately when an appointment is marked as routine, it can take several months for it to happen. I am pleased that you now have seen Dr Perry and he has started you on treatment and I will also ensure Dr Perry is made aware of your comments.

Regards

Nikki Woodcock, Head of Endoscopy
