"Restored my faith"

About: Lincoln County Hospital

All the other times I have visited the maternity unit I've left feeling a bit grumpy, for variety of reasons, generally around a total lack of organisation and cleanliness.

Today (24.6) I went to the antenatal assessment centre because of reduced foetal movements. The little monkey turned out to be absolutely fine and merrily kicked me for the full half hour I was on the monitors. While there I was under the care of one of the midwives. I really cannot say enough how fantastic they were! They were calm, reassuring, friendly and really went above and beyond to make myself and my husband comfortable and keep us informed. We ended up seeing a doctor too and again they were lovely.

I really hope this midwife can read this feedback because they honestly turned something which could have been very stressful into a calm and positive experience. If we're allowed to request midwives at the births they are top of our list, thank you.

I really want to thank you so much for taking the time out of your weekend to post your feedback and to compliment us on our service.

I will make sure that the midwife who saw you receives the compliment. Can I take the opportunity to thank you for your story, its so nice to hear that we are getting things right, and all feedback positive and negative goes a long way to shaping the services we offer our women and families.

Best wishes

Hi

United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust Staff Awards for 2017 are now open for nominations.

This is the opportunity for the people of Lincolnshire to recognise the hard work, dedication and caring of hospital staff working across the county.

Nominations can be made in 11 categories recognising care and compassion, great teamwork, research and innovation and unsung heroes amongst other things.

The Great Patient Experience Award is especially important, as it is open only to patient nominations, and winners are judged by a panel of patients.

Information regarding the staff awards can be found at www.ulh.nhs.uk/about/staff-awards/

If you would like to nominate this midwife for an award then please contact me as we have been able to identify her. I can be contacted on either 01476 464560 or Sharon.kidd@ulh.nhs.uk

Best wishes

Sharon Kidd, Patient Experience Manager
