"Really Good Telephone Consultation"

I went to the surgery in person this afternoon and requested a consultation with a General Practitioner.

The receptionist was really polite and courteous of my needs without having to disclose too much information.

The person on reception explained clearly who the duty doctor was for the day and booked me for a telephone consultation during the early part of the afternoon.

I missed the call from the duty doctor ar 14:27hrs and rang the surgery straight back explaining that I was unable to get to my phone in time to answer.

The person in the office that took my call was really efficient and kindly sent the duty doctor a message informing them of my return call.

I recieved a second telephone call from the duty doctor at the surgery for the day at 16:33hrs.

The duty doctor had noted that I called back the surgery and even took the time to tell me the reason it took a few hours to call me back (even though I did not expect or ask for an explaination).

I found this really reassuring and it helped me to feel at ease talking to someone that I have never met.

It was very difficult to tell a new practitioner the nature of my enquiry but, the duty doctor had already taken the time to read another doctors notes from a previous appointment.

They were able to answer all my questions and give me correct, accurate information about the progress of an urgent referral that was made yesterday.

On this occasion, I did not need to attend the surgery in person today as the matter had already been dealt with very effectivey by another practitoner.

Please show this to the doctor that dealt with me today and pass on my thanks.

Please also note that I have put five stars for the "Same sex accommodation" question on the ratings list but, I do not see the relevance of the question in relation to this practice (there was no option to answer not applicable).
