This was my 2nd bite at CBT- the first time certainly helped but then my difficulties increased.
I had not been prepared to return for therapy with a different therapist, I didn't want to 'start from the beginning'- however, I agreed to meet the senior therapist ( supervisor to my 1st therapist) and realised straight away that I felt secure and that I was in a safe pair of hands who knew their trade well.
I do not need to give details but the therapist I saw was incredibly intuitive and wise and compassionate. They helped me become strong enough and compassionate enough to myself, to reach the stage where I was able commence the 'reliving ' protocol. This did seem like a strange and painful concept, but by some strange magic it has worked on many levels.
For this I am very grateful, and for the many changes for the better in my life.
"Trauma therapy is anti intuitive- but so..."
