"Visit to Urology 21.06.16"

Today I had to visit the Urology department following referral from doctor for blood in urine.

Understandably I was nervous as the thought of a cystoscopy daunted me. As I was waiting the nurse who first attended to me was warm, friendly and put me at my ease.

They returned about half an hour later to apologise for the delay and talked a little about what to expect from the procedure.

I was a little surprised as expected to see someone first to discuss my case but was take to a holding area where I out on my gown and waited to be called.

Again the nurse was reassuring and friendly.

The assistant due to do my procedure welcomed me very warmly and immediately put me at my ease as did the consultant.

Throughout they were reassuring and even encouraged me to watch the screen if I chose to which I found interesting to do.

I was given the all clear and worry that has been going on for some time became a huge relief. The assistant showed me the results on screen which again put me at ease to see it for myself.

I would like to thank everyone I came across today for being so friendly, professional and above all human beings who understood how another human being may be feeling.

Realising I am not allowed to name individuals, please pass on my thanks to the team working at 1530 today for making my experience today a calm and relaxing one, it is much appreciated.
