I have attended the endoscopy unit twice within the last six weeks following surgery for bowel cancer and although a very busy unit I found the staff to be caring and considerate. Indeed my first visit some six weeks ago the member of staff who collected me from reception remembered what name I like to be addressed by (a very unusual name by the way) and it was some five years since I was last there. The procedure is not a very dignified experience but I have never felt ill at ease due to the know how of the staff making me feel at ease. As I've stated a very busy department but all staff have time for a smile or reassuring word. That department is a credit to Kettering General Hospital and the NHS. May I add that due to my illness I have visited many departments, wards, chemo suite etc and without exception the treatment I have received by everyone has been of the highest order.
Many many thanks for all your efforts.
